About

In December 2011, Thor closed on the acquisition of a 75 percent interest in 837 Washington St. in Manhattan’s historic Meatpacking District. Perfectly positioned at the corner of 13th Street and Washington Street, 837 Washington offered a rare opportunity for retailers looking to create a new flagship and office space within one location. However, finding the tenant looking for 62,000 square feet can be challenging.

Groundbreaking happened at 837 Washington in December 2012, and Thor immediately began researching the best possible retailers who would be interested in the entire building. By creating state-of-the-art marketing products that allowed potential tenants to walk through the space without actually being there enabled them to truly appreciate the architecture, design, and individuality 837 Washington had to offer—open floor plans, floor-to-ceiling windows and the twisting steel exoskeleton of the building rising out of the ground.

Samsung signed in July 2014 and became the exclusive tenant at 837 Washington. Samsung utilizes the upper floors and terraces as a home for their brand marketing team, and the ground and lower level as retail space to showcase its business mobile products. Through the vision of Thor Equities, the ideal pairing of Samsung and 837 Washington St. was made possible.
