Thor Equities Group Acquires Strategic Properties in South Chicago Submarket

Thor Equities Group, a global leader in urban real estate development, leasing and management, is pleased to announce the acquisition of two industrial assets totaling 13.3 acres in the South Chicago submarket. This project represents the nineteenth industrial acquisition for Thor in the past year.

Located alongside Chicago’s Interstate 55, one of Chicago’s primary East/West expressways and under twenty minutes from the center of Chicago, 2750 W. 35th Street and 2940 W. 36th Street offer logistics tenants two attractive leasing opportunities. The former site is an outdoor storage yard while the latter is a 33,000 square foot cross-dock truck terminal which Thor plans to renovate.

“This latest acquisition reflects our confidence in the logistics sector and our commitment to identifying well-located assets in key cities globally. The Chicago industrial market has performed well, and we are eager to diversify our holdings in North America,” said Chairman of Thor Equities Group, Joe Sitt.

Thor has been bullish in the industrial sector both in the US and abroad, having acquired a last-mile portfolio anchored by Amazon in the Philadelphia area in August and a 196,300 property in the Los Angeles/Carson submarket in April. Abroad, Thor acquired seventeen assets between Spain and France and sold a 2.2M square foot portfolio in the UK earlier this year.
